Vacation Rental Turnover Checklist: Tips for Space Coast Hosts

In a busy beach market like Cocoa Beach, cleanliness is one of the biggest drivers of guest reviews. A consistent turnover routine helps you earn five stars and repeat bookings. Use this checklist between every stay.

Start with a Walkthrough

Check for damage, left-behind items and anything that needs repair.
Open windows or run the AC and fans to refresh the air.
Strip all beds and gather towels, including pool and beach towels.
Start the first load of laundry right away so it's ready on time.

Kitchen

Run and empty the dishwasher; check cabinets for dirty dishes.
Clean out the fridge and toss guest leftovers.
Wipe the microwave, stovetop, oven door and small appliances.
Restock dish soap, sponges, paper towels, coffee and trash bags.

Bathrooms

Scrub the toilet, tub, shower and sink; polish mirrors and fixtures.
Check the shower for hair and the drain for clogs.
Hang fresh towels hotel-style and restock toilet paper and toiletries.
Wipe light switches and door handles.

Bedrooms and Living Areas

Make beds with crisp, fresh linens and check mattress protectors.
Dust surfaces, ceiling fans and baseboards.
Check under beds and sofa cushions for sand and lost items.
Vacuum and mop all floors, paying extra attention to entryways.

The Finishing Touches

Sweep the lanai, balcony or patio and rinse off salt and sand.
Take out all trash and recycling.
Set the thermostat and make sure the Wi-Fi details are visible.
Leave a small welcome touch, like a handwritten note or local treat.
Take quick photos of each room for your records.

Guests notice the details: a hair on a towel or sand in the sheets can cost you a five-star review.
